New apprentices take on design challenges
We are excited that we have expanded our team of apprentices this year. Over the last few weeks we have been setting them different design challenges in order to develop their problem solving skills.
The latest design challenge was a team project where they had to design and make a self-contained walking mechanism capable of moving a distance of at least 1m. The solution had to fit inside a shoe box and not exceed a budget of £200.00.
The team of 4 apprentices are currently working towards either their level 3, Level 4 or Level 6 qualifications so the skills and ability within the group varies widely, however, they demonstrated great teamwork and we are excited by the solution they have produced.
They have created a repeatable solution which met the brief and that works consistently. We all enjoyed their presentation where they could show off what they had learnt.
