THE STORY
In response to Covid-19 and new health and safety requirements, EMP developed a wearable device to help people maintain a safe distance in the workplace. The aim was to create a solution that would work in a variety of environments and be easy to use without intrusive barriers or complex systems.
THE SOLUTION
EMP designed a compact, lightweight device that can be worn on a lanyard, belt clip, or wristband. Using ultra-wideband technology, the device detects when another unit comes within a pre-set distance and alerts the wearer with sound and/or vibration. The safe distance can be adjusted, allowing flexibility as guidelines evolve.
THE PRODUCT
The monitor is USB-rechargeable, designed for regular cleaning, and built to withstand daily use. GDPR compliance ensures that no personal data is compromised, giving users and employers confidence in both safety and privacy.
