We were absolutely chuffed to support the talented students of the Corps of Drums at St Dunstan’s College in London during their fantastic performance on Saturday night. Seeing the drumsticks in action was a brilliant moment — congratulations to everyone involved!
This project began when we were commissioned to design and manufacture a set of radio DMX–controlled LED drumsticks, created to deliver striking, synchronised lighting effects for group performances.
The brief called for a solution that was not only visually impressive, but also robust and simple to use in a school environment. Key features included:
Wireless radio DMX control
Individual DMX addressing per drumstick
Battery power with USB-C charging
Single-button operation
To achieve this, we developed a custom electronic system combining integrated LED lighting, radio DMX control, and dedicated battery management for safe and reliable charging.

A standout feature is the magnetic sensor addressing system, allowing drumsticks to be synced or unsynced using a magnet — eliminating the need for extra buttons or complicated menus.
The finished drumsticks are compact, durable, fully wireless, and individually controllable, delivering precise lighting effects while remaining easy to operate and maintain.
We’re proud of the final outcome and look forward to seeing them used in future performances at the school and beyond.
