As the year draws to a close, we reflect on some popular developments from 2024 and to give you first sight of what’s new for 2025.
We continue to support the entertainment industry during a challenging period, as the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes have halted numerous projects, resulting in financial strain across the sector. We create solutions using electronics and control systems to support companies and productions. During this quieter period, we have been developing new products to enhance lighting control on set, making it more efficient and intuitive. Stay tuned in 2025 as we prepare to launch these ground-breaking solutions!
Dimmers
2024 saw us dipping our toe in the dimmers sector by launching the Plug Top Dimmer. Thank you to everyone for your positive feedback on this product – great to know it makes life easier when out on location! In response to your feedback, we will be launching 2 new versions in 2025 – both with the same capability as the standard Plug Top dimmer but one with a European plug fitting and one in a black casing as black is often easier to disguise on set.
Later in the year we launched the PD-8, a 8-way practical dimmer perfect for controlling tungsten lighting on sets. This too has received positive feedback. Check this dimmer out on our product page to find out more about its advanced safety features, superior capacity ultimate reliability, space-efficient and modular design.
Did you know that, the PD-8 has no minimum load requirements so you can use any bulb up to a maximum of 200w?

What’s coming up?
In early 2025, we’ll be unveiling the IL2200, the latest addition to our cutting-edge dimmer range. The IL2200 is a single-channel 2.2kW dimmer housed in a compact form factor, providing portable control for lamps up to 2.2kW. It offers seamless DMX control via the Lumen network, while also allowing manual light adjustment through an intuitive on-unit dial. As standard with all our dimmers, it features precise trailing-edge dimming alongside built-in overcurrent and over-temperature protection, ensuring enhanced safety on set. Additionally, the IL2200 incorporates our unique Xero Cross Technology, reducing susceptibility to line noise from other fixtures and high-current systems, ensuring reliable performance even in demanding environments.
And something else to look out for: In response to our clients, and a persistent legacy issue with widely-used dimmer systems on sets, we have developed an innovative new controller. This solution enables older dimmer racks to remain in use, extending their life while integrating them with modern protocols. By repurposing existing equipment, we’re helping productions save money and reduce environmental impact. Stay tuned for the launch of this exciting product in early 2025…

Software Upgrade to Skycast
In June 2024 we launched SkyCast A and SkyCast C, two products designed to revolutionize on-set lighting control. Both models are part of our state-of-the-art wireless control system, offering seamless integration with existing lighting setups for film and television productions. We were thrilled when Blackout Lighting gave the SkyCast C a rave review. Again, we have listened to feedback on this product and in early 2025 we will be releasing a software update with new functionality.
